SSF Finance Director Recruitment

With surfing now an Olympic sport which is rapidly growing and Scotland’s first inland surfing destination in the pipeline, there has never been a more exciting time to be involved in Scottish surfing. Alongside the sporting potential of surfing, it is also being recognised as a fantastic tool for positive social change and inclusion.

Formed in 1975, the Scottish Surfing Federation is the governing body for the sport of surfing in Scotland including all of its disciplines (bodysurf, bodyboard, shortboard, longboard, SUP, para surfing) and is recognised by SportScotland. The SSF develops surfing in Scotland from grassroots participation all the way up to World Championship level.

The role is an exciting opportunity for someone with a financial background to come onto the SSF Board of Directors as a Financial Director, working together with the board on financial plans and budgets and supporting the SSF board and executive in financial reporting and organisation.

The Board of Directors have identified the need to enhance the skills and experience within the existing Board, to build on the progress of recent years.

The Board meets formally a minimum of four times per year either in person or remotely and as necessary from time to time. There is an expectation that Board members will also support specific projects or be members of one or more sub-committees as well as attending the occasional surfing event.

The role is voluntary and reasonable expenses will be paid.
