Adaptive Surf Taster Event – St Andrews

On Saturday the SSF welcomed two total newcomers to adaptive surfing for a taster session in St Andrews, in classic tiny East Coast summer conditions. Yet again though, we made the most of it with big boards and loads of energy from a great collaboration between three adaptive surfing charities – Inclusive Surfing Scotland, Wave Project, and SurfABLE. There were a few ripples and ankle biters throughout the morning that got Melissa and Maria going on the big boards, and gave them a great intro & teaser of surfing. They left with huge smiles and a hunger to try again in bigger waves, which is all we could have asked for! Check out the photos and highlights below.

Unfortunately no photos of the afternoon – but we had a great paddle & fitness session with our advanced surfers Jade & Justine, followed by a few cliff jumps with the team!

Huge thanks to all the volunteers, charities, and surfers that are making these events possible and growing adaptive surfing in Scotland!

Next up, on the 7th & 8th of September we have the Dunnet event and the Para Surf Scottish National Championships!
